A Company History

Our story begins in 1929, when the Rohr Company Founder Adam Rohr made the decision to mine the sand and gravel below his farm to better support his growing family.

During this period, sand and gravel was brought up with shovels and loaded into horse carts. The daily output was less than a hundredth of what it is today.

By 1938 the land-based bucketladder had been developed. This helped to streamline production and extend the useful life of the property. Emil Rohr became active in the family business in the early 40's and remained heavily involved until he passed the operations on to his son Wolfgang in 1968.

In the mid 70's, Rohr developed the AQUAMATOR. This patented innovation has found an application in hundreds of aggregate plants around the world for washing gravel and cleaning sand. This was Rohr's first step into the machinery business which has grown substantially since those early beginnings. The early 80's saw the inclusion of the fourth generation, Axel and Jochen Rohr. This new leadership has lead to many innovations and international growth.

The Rohr Group offers a wide variety of products and services for the aggregate industry.
Our goal is to provide the sand and gravel producer with products thoroughly engineered and tested in our own sand and gravel operations, to insure high availability, constant output and longevity.

We engineer and assemble our Motor Control Center (MCC) at our facility in Cincinnati Ohio using Allen Bradley, GE and Square D components. All Rohr equipment utilizes off the shelf components to assure ease of service and high availability.

To assure consistent quality in our components, we have combined administration, electrical engineering and fabrication into one location near Cincinnati Ohio.. This new facility allows us to keep tighter control over all aspects of the manufacturing process. This also allows us to pre-assemble all major components before shipping to keep field fabrication to a minimum.
